The nature park region Reutte is known for its many crystal clear mountain lakes. These can be wonderfully combined with a hike. A hike around the Plansee, as the locals call it, is an absolute must. Here you will discover crayfish at the edge of the lake as well as the breathtaking scenery at one of the most beautiful and largest mountain lakes in Tyrol. But also the Frauensee, although far smaller, but all the more idyllic, invites you to a hike. Here you can combine your hike with a Lechweg stage. The Costarieskapelle is a highlight and offers a magnificent view. Or the Urisee, the bathing lake of the people of Reutten. This is located at the foot of the Dürrbergalm, the meeting place in spring and autumn and probably the sunniest place in Reutte. This is also called the balcony of Reutte.

When you see Linderhof Palace, you wouldn't believe that a simple forester's cottage used to stand there. King Ludwig II had the former cottage of his father Maximilian II converted into a castle with a park. The so-called "Königshäuschen" was extended again and again and it is the only building that Ludwig II lived to see completed.
